Police Investigate Thefts From Novi Businesses
Suburban Chrysler, Metro PCS and others experience damage and losses as the result of thefts and break-ins.

These Novi businesses reported thefts and break-ins over the past week:
- Someone from Suburban Chrysler on Haggerty Road contacted police on Monday morning, to report the theft of eight wheels and lug nuts, valued at $2,000, from two 2013 model cars. According to the report, the theft happened between 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Monday. Both vehicles were left resting on blocks.
- A man dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt, light pants and shoes with light color near the toes took $5,000 from the cash register at Metro PCS on Grand River at around 9:40 p.m. on Sunday. According to the report, police called in response to an alarm found the back door smashed. Surveillance tapes showed the man kick in the lower panel of glass on the door and walk straight to the register, the report indicated.
- An employee from a neighboring business called police after discovering a broken window at Dolly's Pizza on Pontiac Trail Saturday morning. According to the report, the north side door was smashed and a large rock was found inside. A large, black safe under the counter was untouched; the cash register tray lock was broken, but the thief was unable to open it. Surveillance video shows the suspect wore a white hood that hid his face, a red hooded sweatshirt and black jacket.
- Someone tossed a 5-gallon paint bucket threw a plate glass window to get into Gold Buy and Jewelry shortly before 8 a.m. on Friday. According to the report, the break-in was reported by an employee of a neighboring business. The report did not indicate whether anything was taken.
