A much-anticipated pop culture favorite in Michigan, the convention continues through Sunday at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Michigan. This is the 25th anniversary show.

More than 30,000 visitors – many dressed as their favorite comic book characters – are expected to have visited the convention before it closes Sunday, The Detroit Free Press reports.
Among the celebrities on hand Friday was John Barrowman of the “Dr. Who” spinoff, “Torchwood,” who was in Michigan for first time.

He told the Free Press that conventions like this one give him a chance to “meet the people who have given me this unbelievable life I have.”
“For me, it’s a chance to connect and be face-to-face with the fans who have changed my life,” he said.
