7 Days Until School: Get a Flu Shot

School starts one week from today, and local pharmacies like CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid are already advertising walk-in flu clinics for adults and children.

"The 2011-2012 vaccine will protect against an influenza A H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus and the H1N1 virus that emerged in 2009 to cause a pandemic," reads the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

According to the CDC, everyone six months of age and older should get the flu vaccine, which is available in limited quantities in August. "Ample supplies should be available in September and October," reads the website.
