Avon Players Busy Singing, Dancing in the 'Secret Garden'

Here's a sneak preview of the spring production, which features the newest member of the Rochester Community Schools administration in a starring role.

A cast of 20 is busy rehearsing the next production from the , a community theater group in Rochester.

Secret Garden runs May 18-June 2 at the Washington Road theater. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m.; Sunday performances are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18.

The production tells the story of 11-year-old Mary Lennox, an orphan who comes to live in Yorkshire with her uncle and his son. Among the many wonders of the estate: a magical garden.

The show stars Gabrielle Phillips as Mary and Dan Romzek, who is the assistant superintendent for business for , as the uncle, Archibald.
