Nick's is Back — Who's Excited?
Nick's Country Oven has returned in Country Creek Crossing in Oakland Township.
No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you — is back in business.
The sign for Nick's Country Oven is back where it was six months ago in Country Creek Crossing, at the corner of Silver Bell and Adams roads, before new owners took over and changed the name to . According to Nika Gojcaj, owner of Nick's Country Oven, there was a financial discrepancy between himself and the owners of the City Diner, Tonya and John Vuktilaj, causing them to leave and Gojcaj to transform the restaurant back to what it was.
Changing the restaurant back to Nick's didn't involve a lot of work because the interior of the building wasn't changed much after the transition. The signage and menu were the main things that needed to be changed, and since Gojcaj stepped back in two weeks ago, both changes have been made.

Gojcaj originally decided to pass on the facility to the Vuktilajs in June because he was in the process of opening a couple of new restaurants and didn't have the time to be on-site. The couple wanted to change a few menu items and increase the prices, according to Gojcaj, so they changed the name to City Diner and left the bulk of the facility the same. Gojcaj's name was still on the five-year lease, and since three of those years are still left to fulfill, Nick's Country Oven is back in business.
Nick's Country Oven serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is known for its reasonable prices and menu variety.
Oakland Township resident Sarah Hudson said that regardless of what the name of the restaurant has been, the atmosphere and much of the food has been the same.
"I've never had a bad experience there," Hudson said. "It's a nice place to meet up."
