Oak Arbor School Students get into Christmas Spirit with Mitten Tree

The students and families of Oak Arbor School donated new children's outerwear for Rochester Area Neighborhood House

The students and families of Oak Arbor School donated new outerwear for children (mittens, hats, and scarves) and placed it directly on the Mitten Tree in their foyer. All donations were delivered to Rochester Area Neighborhood House for delivery to local children in need.

Oak Arbor teacher, Julie Elder, runs this program. “We’ve been doing the Mitten Tree program for over 10 years. This year in particular, the tree was very well supported by the students. It’s fun to see the tree blossom with hats and mittens. It’s a very visible way for the children to give, and festive too!”

Oak Arbor School is located 3 miles north of downtown Rochester. Providing a private Christian education for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, the goal is to “Feed the Mind, Touch the Heart, Prepare for Life”. More information can be found at www.oakarborschool.org, or by calling 248-652-3420.
