Stadium Drive Families Work Together To Enhance Meek's Park
The school raised funds to benefit the Lake Orion park this year.
Over 60 students and their families came together on Sunday to pitch in and help beautify in Lake Orion.
Families that attended helped plant flowers around the park and ivy along a fence. A local Eagle Scout, Ben O., also planted two flowering trees at the entrance to Meek's Park.
Students at the school earlier this year to raise funds for a sign at the Broadway Street entrance of Meek's Park and decided that it would be the start of a park adoption project for the students. Since taking the park under their wing, students were able to raise $5,000 at the Dance-A-Thon to put toward a new sign to make the park more visible and a $400 United Way grant was awarded for the improvements in the park.

"We're looking at making this a long-term partnership," Patti Lareau, a third-grade teacher at Stadium Drive Elementary School said at a recent .
Students have been continuing their efforts to raise funds for the park by selling t-shirts.

According to Lareau the new sign will most likely be installed in the fall. When the new sign is up students will congregate in the park for a Stadium Family Day to celebrate, she said.
