Troopers Track Down Miniature Donkey Who Wandered Away From Oakland County Pasture

The miniature donkey​ named "Dolly Parton," was not injured and returned to her owners.

HOLLY TOWNSHIP, MI — Troopers safely located a miniature donkey who had gotten loose Tuesday night in Oakland County, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers said the miniature donkey named "Dolly Parton," found an open gate on her Holly Township pasture and wandered away.

Troopers were called to the area and eventually found Dolly taking a stroll along a roadway in the township. She was not injured and returned to her owners, police said.

"Troopers assigned to northern Oakland County often find themselves dispatched to locate missing animals in the area," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "We have located Potato the lost dog, cows along I-75 and now Dolly the miniature donkey. When you join the Michigan State Police, you just don’t know where the day will take you!"
