What's Going on This Weekend?

There's a lot going on in and around Lake Orion and Oakland Township this weekend. Here's a peek at some of the events:

• Art students will be in the spotlight at Sunday's annual art show and silent auction at . The art show runs from 4-6 p.m. and the auction starts at 5 p.m.
• The Lake Orion Dragons take on the Rochester Falcons for a chance at the district boys basketball title on Friday night at . See the MHSAA district bracket here. Game time is 7 p.m.
• There are still tickets left to the at the Addison Oaks Ballroom in Leonard on Saturday evening. The black tie optional event features music, an open bar, gourmet meal, raffle and more. All proceeds benefit the Orion Art Center and the annual Dragon on the Lake festival in Lake Orion. 
• If you're in the mood for an independent film, take a drive down to Birmingham and watch some of the films that are a part of the Uptown Film Festival through Saturday. In fact, Lake Orion resident Paul Lenzi has a short film, Pucker, which runs at 11 a.m. Saturday. Parts of his film were shot in in Lake Orion.
• Eagle Creek Academy in Oakland Township is hosting its on Saturday night. Enjoy casino games, a meal, auction and more for $50 per person.
