Are You Facebook Friends With the Lake Orion Dragon?

This friendly beast wants to be your friend ... on Facebook. The Dragon on the Lake is looking to connect with who want to know more about the festival taking place Aug. 24 - 26.

Here's what happens when you give a Dragon access to Facebook:

Oh, that Dragon on the Lake is a funny one. The Dragon has been hard at work lately posting status updates like these to people who "Like" his Facebook page.

In addition to jokes and quips about '80s pop culture, the Dragon is also keeping fans up to speed on the upcoming Dragon on the Lake 2012 festival, which is Aug 24-26.

Who is this mystery dragon and why is he on Facebook? Patch recently asked the dragon himself and got this reply from him:

"It's a little known fact that dragons are great with witty banter and interesting factoids," the dragon explained. "And with that being said, we normally regale with stories and spoken word, so this Facebook thing is new to me; you can only imagine how hard it is to type with claws!"

Fair enough. But, how long will he keep updating for?

"I hope to keep reporting on the event from my crib at the bottom of the lake.... my goal is to spread the word from the perspective of probably one of the coolest dragons in North America."

If you want to know who is really behind this Facebook Dragon, don't count on it. We received this answer when we tried to pose the question.

"If you want to learn my identity, I suggest you get some scuba gear and get on down here because I'm hungry!"

Anyone around Lake Orion brave enough to try, let us know what you find.

In the meantime, say hello to the Facebook Dragon and learn more about Dragon on the Lake (presented by the ), check out the Facebook page or website.
