3 Injured In Crash On Plymouth Road In Ann Arbor: Police

Police believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.

ANN ARBOR, MI — Three people were injured in a horrific early Saturday morning crash on Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor, according to police.

Two women, both 19, and a 20-year-old man were pulled from an electric Porsche AG Taycan after the car crashed into the parking lot of a business mall on Plymouth Road near Murfin Avenue at roughly 4 a.m., according to police.

The 20-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Officials had to use hydraulic extrication tools, known as Jaws of Life, to get the man out of the car, according to police.

The two 19-year-old women were also taken to nearby hospitals and treated for minor injuries, according to police.

Officials did not report any other injuries or any other vehicles involved with the crash.

Police said one of the women was driving the car when it crashed. Police believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.

Photos from the crash scene showed the front of the car ripped apart and missing its front wheels. A wheel from the car also smashed through the windshield of a nearby parked vehicle.

Plymouth Road near Murfin Avenue was shut down for hours as officials investigated the crash and cleaned the scene.
