LIVONIA, MI — Meijer is planning to open a new Livonia store next month, its second Detroit area store this year.
The new 75,000 square-foot Livonia store, located at 33500 Seven Mile Road, will open on Aug. 19.
It comes after the Michigan retailer opened a store in Rochester Hills in May.
Meijer also has a supercenter store under construction in Plymouth Township. That store is expected to open sometime later this year.
"We're excited to open our second Meijer Grocery location in Southeast Michigan this year, continuing to bring this convenient format to more communities to help customers quickly find fresh foods and everyday essentials at consistently low prices," Vice President of the East Michigan Region for Meijer Maureen Mitchell said. "These stores are designed to provide value and convenience to customers, right in the communities where they live and work each day."
With the new Livonia store, Meijer now has 129 locations across Michigan.
