The fall 2026 Plymouth Lecture Series is set to begin on Thursday, Sept. 17. We are welcoming new members for our series of five lectures on a wide range of topics including local history, art, music, gardening, health, travel and much more.
We meet at the Plymouth Community Arts Council at 774 Sheldon Rd. on Thursdays beginning Sept. 17 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The setting is informal, everyone is welcome. Since it is a collaborative effort, ideas for future speakers are encouraged.
New members can pay for the series at the first meeting. The cost is $30.00 for the five lectures. It is a great way to meet new people and expand your horizons. Hope to see you there!
Fall 2006 Lectures:
Sept.17 The Plymouth Historical Museum presents “Early American Toys” which will provide us with insight into the lives and activities of colonial children.
Sept. 24 A clothing historian will discuss and bring samples of gowns worn during the Downton Abbey era.
Oct. 1. Presented by a DIA docent, the “Behind the Seen” talk focuses on various aspects of the DIA and its collection.
Oct. 8 The Northville Historical Society presents a look at Mill Race Village, a living museum village of restored & replica 19th-century buildings.
Oct. 15 Learn about Detroit's historic movie palaces, which represent the peak of 1920s architectural grandeur and entertainment history.
