Canton Police Arrest 3 Men In Connection With Multiple Car Thefts
The three men were arrested after officers caught them in a car that was stolen out of Northville Township, according to police.
CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Three men were arrested in connection with a string of car thefts across metro Detroit, according to Canton Police.
Brandon Blackshire, 21, Dawayne Crutchfield, 20 and Demetrius Winkfield, 21, were all arrested in Allen Park on March 20 after officers found them in a car that was stolen out of Northville Township, according to police.
Crutchfield and Winkfield were also caught with illegal guns, according to police.

Police did not specify what type of vehicle was stolen or when it was taken.
Blackshire was charged with receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and habitual offender (fourth offense).

Crutchfield was charged with receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, three felony firearm violations, and habitual offender (second offense).
Winkfield was charged with receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, three felony firearm violations, and habitual offender (third offense).
Crutchfield also had a warrant for his arrest in connection with a vehicle theft in Canton in 2022, according to police. For that case, he was charged with unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle and receiving and concealing a motor vehicle.
All three men were placed in jail, each with a $50,000 bond. If they are released from jail, they must wear GPS tethers. Their next court date is April 22.
Crutchfield was given an additional $50,000 bond for the 2022 case. His next court date for that case is Friday, April 5.
