Canton Police Officer Suspended for Alleged Racist Remarks on Facebook
Canton Public Safety Department investigating, want to make sure the officer was the actual source of the 'disturbing' remark.

(Posted Nov. 11, 2016) CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI - A Canton police officer has been suspended with pay while the police department investigates allegations he made a racist remark black people on Facebook, according to media reports. The officer, Kenneth Kleszcz, allegedly told African Americans to "go home monkeys" during a live feed of an election protest.
A spokesman for the Canton Public Safety Department told WDIV-TV that an investigation began immediately after authorities were made aware of the allegation about 9:30a.m. Friday. The spokesman called the allegations against Klescz, who joined the department in May 2015, "very disturbing."
"The Canton Public Safety Department holds our employees to the highest of standards, and this type of behavior is not representative of the beliefs or core values of this organization," the spokesman said.
