Plymouth Chef Competes in Food Network's 'Halloween Baking Championship'

An executive sous chef for the Detroit Lions’ food and beverage partner, Levy Restaurants, will be featured on the premiere episode of the Food Network’s “Halloween Baking Championship” airing at 9 p.m. Monday.

Scott Breazeale, 45, of Plymouth, is one of seven bakers vying for the show’s $25,000 prize in an episode filmed in May, with their creepy confectionery creations. Breazeale and the other contestants decorated cupcakes with Halloween candy picked from a cauldron.

Breazeale told the Detroit Free Press he “lucked out and got Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.” The creation featured gummy worms, peanut butter cup buttercream, cookie dirt and candied bones.

His and the six other contestants’ cupcakes were featured in the October issue

A trained pastry chef, Breazeale learned to cook from his grandmother, according to his official Food Network bio, and is “a skateboarder and old-school punk rocker” who has worked techniques of molecular gastronomy into his culinary repertoire.
