Drunken Driver Crashes Car Upright On Ann Arbor Street Sign: Police

ANN ARBOR, MI — A drunken driver was arrested early Friday morning after she crashed her car that ended up vertically on an Ann Arbor street sign, according to police.
Police said the 24-year-old woman was driving the car with three passengers near Lincoln Avenue and Wells Street at 3:40 a.m. when she struck a guide wire attached to a utility pole.

The 24-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after police said she had a blood-alcohol content of .17 percent, which is significantly higher than the legal limit of 0.08.
"This is another reminder of the dangers of driving drunk," officials said in a statement. "It was very fortunate there were no serious injuries in this incident."
