The DNR will host this 2012 Winter Free Fishing Weekend event in order to engage more individuals in fishing in the local community.
This exciting, family-friendly event will include not only ice fishing demonstrations and instruction but fly fishing as well. Instructors will be on hand to explain all the gear involved, how to drill a hole in the ice, where to find the best fish, and even how to clean them once you’ve landed them. It will take place whether there is ice or not - we may just have to use our imagination if there isn't any ice.
This event is FREE, however a Recreation Passport is required for park entry. You may purchase a Recreation Passport when renewing your license plate tabs at any Secretary of State office, or at any state park headquarters.
