Fourth-Grader Cuts Classmate With Knife At Metro Detroit Bus Stop: Police
The two fourth-graders were fighting before school when one cut the other with a pocket knife, police said.
WESTLAND — A 9-year-old was arrested Thursday morning after police said the elementary student cut another student with a pocket knife during a fight at a Westland school bus stop.
The 10-year-old student was cut on the head and knee and taken to a nearby hospital for the two minor injuries, police said.
The 9-year-old attacker was taken to the Westland Police Department where the student and the parents were interviewed by police, officials said.

The two fourth-graders attend Schweitzer Elementary School and engaged in a physical altercation before the start of school, officials said.
Officials said they will turn over their investigation to the Wayne County Court's Juvenile Division. Police and the district did not release any further details.

"The safety of students and staff is our first priority and we are committed to the safety and education of all our students," the district said in the letter to parents.
