Globally Inspired Coffee and Tea Cafe Opens in Canton

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea, a Michigan-based cafe serving fresh bakery items and unique coffee and tea drinks, many of which are made from all-natural or housemade ingredients, will open a new location in Canton Friday, Aug. 12, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon.

Sweetwaters is a globally-inspired cafe with a neighborhood coffeehouse feel that serves customers luxury drinks at affordable prices. In addition to traditional cappuccinos, mochas and lattes, Sweetwaters offers a variety of unique hot and cold beverage selections including Ginger Lemon Tea, frozen Ice Dragons, and French Vietnamese Au Lait, all while still maintaining its Michigan roots. The Canton Sweetwaters will source many of its daily bakery items from Michigan bakeries Crust, Avalon and Tasty Bakery, among others.

Sweetwaters is dedicated to making all of its products as fresh as possible, including making house-made whipped cream throughout the day. The coffeehouse even brews its own Cold Brew Coffee for over 18 hours to ensure a sweet, smooth ice cold coffee that can be enjoyed on its own as a Straight Up, with vanilla & cream as a Dreamy, with mint as a Mint Julep, or with chocolate & espresso as a Dirty.

The Canton Sweetwaters is owned and operated by local franchisees Kristina and Jay Wilson. Both Michigan natives, Kristina and Jay both worked in the medical sales field when they discovered Sweetwaters. After falling in love with the company, the couple decided to open their own business in Canton, Kristina’s hometown. This location is the sixth Sweetwaters café throughout Michigan.

To celebrate the opening week of the new cafe at 302 N. Canton Center Road, there will be giveaways and specials, including:

• Friday, Aug. 12: Buy any triple size drink and get a free pastry bar. Plus one guest will win free coffee or tea for a year.
• Saturday, Aug. 13: Free mini Cold Brew giveaway
• Sunday, Aug. 14: All day long buy any triple size drink and get a free pastry bar.
• Monday, Aug. 15: Free mini Cold Brew giveaway.
• Tuesday, Aug. 16: Free pastry bars with your Triple sized drink.
• Wednesday, Aug. 17: “Buy one get one” card giveaways.
• Thursday, Aug. 18: Free mini Cold Brew giveaway.
