When reading history books about Plymouth or when visiting the Plymouth Historical Museum, I've come across a photo of an old garage called Bonafide and I couldn't help but try to find if this single story building still existed or if it was torn down. Through some research and poking around some buildings, I finally discovered that it still existed and looked nothing like what it used to. Bonafide Manufacturing and Garage was built in 1910 at 331 North Main Street as a single story building. The building has undergone huge changes through the years. A second floor was added and it has seen it fare share of additions and face lifts. Bonafide Manufacturing used to make fishing lures and frog spears. The lures (if you ever find one) are highly collectible and can literally fetch thousands of dollars. This building was most known through the years as Allison Chevrolet and they used to display cars on the second floor that were driven up the ramp that still exists in the back of the building. Today, the building is now home to Plymouth Furniture Refinishing whose employees are very welcoming to visitors. I'm thankful for them letting me snoop around and for the shared stories.
