A Honest VPN Service Review: Safeguard Your WiFi Device with LiquidVPN

LiquidVPN is locally owned VPN service that protects your data on public WiFi networks, bypasses censorship and protects your privacy.

Welcome fellow Michiganders, last week I went to the Livonia AMC 20 to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Afer the movie we went to Bahama Breeze to meet some friends. While there I connected to Bahama Breeze's WiFi network. For about two hours I used their WiFi hotspot without any problems. I thought... Within 24 hours I got the first notice from my credit union asking me to confirm a charge that I had not made. My two hours of listening to the Jamaican Steelpan drums ended up potentially costing me 6000.00 in fraudulent charges. My credit card company is fighting the charges, but it has been a nightmare. The security rep from my credit union suggested I use a VPN service whenever I connect to a public WiFi network. I happened to find LiquidVPN a company started right here in Livonia Michigan. Their CEO David Cox still lives in Livonia. Ironically I met him at Malarkey's in Westland 4 days after I started looking for a VPN service. He was very frank with me regarding the dangers of public WiFi networks.

Before signing up, I read a lot of reviews. Here are a few that I feel comfortable recommending. VPN Compares LiquidVPN review is a bit out dated but for a time they were doing monthly speed tests and LiquidVPN scored in the top 2 or 3 on every months test. I also found them in the well respected torrentfreak best VPN list. It is evident many of these review websites are receiving commissions for sign ups, and I recommend taking any information with a grain of salt. I ended up trying LiquidVPN and here is my review after the first week.

In case you do not know what a VPN is it stands for Virtual Private Network. While connected it encrypts all of your communications making it impossible for a 3rd party to pick out things like passwords and credit card numbers. A VPN can also be used to bypass censorship and hide your IP address. LiquidVPN provides 40 different servers for users to use. When I log into any of their servers, I am completely protected from hackers trying to lift data over a network. Let me highlight some more points about LiquidVPN.

Exploring LiquidVPN
LiquidVPN makes it easy for me to protect my data no matter where I am. Through LiquidVPN users can hide their identity and their IP address making it virtually impossible for someone to track them online.

LiquidVPN Features
1) LiquidVPN provides privacy and security to its users through custom apps available for various platforms like Windows, Mac, and Android.
2) LiquidVPN has servers in 12 different countries in North America, Europe, and Asia.
3) Through LiquidVPN users can access geographically blocked content like BBC iPlayer and download torrents without fear of your ISP.

What Made LiquidVPN Attractive to Me
I was very impressed with Mr. Cox's candor about the industry and the differences between his company and the competition. I was also impressed with how helpful their staff is when I had questions. I read up on VPN services and asked some pretty detailed questions. They answered with very detailed instructions or recommendations.

The LiquidVPN Network
Here are the LiquidVPN network highlights.

1) 3 OpenVPN Tunnel Topologies are available, and all users can choose their topologies accordingly. They can freely switch between the following topologies:
a) Public IP Topology.
b) Shared IP Topology.
c) Modulating IP Topology.
To know more about the use of different topologies, please take a look at their network.
2) L2TP SSTP and OpenVPN Support: Users can get through restrictive firewalls with SSTP if needed. iOS users can use L2TP, which is perfect for mobile devices. OpenVPN is the best option for everyone else. It uses AES-256-CBC w/ SHA2 which is the strongest encryption available with OpenVPN.
3) LiquidVPN provides access to content without any restrictions or additional charges. There is no limitation on the use of their network. Unlike many other services, users can use BitTorrent and P2P on all of their VPN servers.
4) Private Zero Log DNS Service: LiquidVPN owns its self-developed LiquidDNS infrastructure which ensures correct mapping of IP addresses to domain names and eliminates malicious DNS attacks. LiquidDNS does not maintain any DNS logs there is no chance of tracking your searches or queries.
5) LiquidVPN's High-Speed Network gets you maximum bandwidth 24x7x365 for a very low price. LiquidVPN is a paid VPN service which comes with various packages. Users can choose the package according to their budget and requirements. The service starts from 4.50 per month to 7.00 per month.

My Final Thoughts
Here are some pros and cons which I noticed while using LiquidVPN.

Pros
1) The interface of their Windows, Mac and Android app is very attractive and easy to use.
2) The browsing speed is the biggest plus point for me. I didn’t notice any problem while browsing or streaming content.
3) It is available for all platforms like Windows, Android, iOS, and Mac.
4) LiquidDNS provides another bonus over other VPN services which often use 3rd party DNS services. 3rd party DNS services expose you to certain DNS attacks.
5) Different VPN topologies are available, and users can use these VPN topologies however they wish. VPN Topologies are one of the biggest advantages of LiquidVPN.
6) They are a zero log VPN service. They have very well defined terms of service and privacy policy.
7) Very helpful customer support available 24x7x365
8) 7 day or 5GB 100% refund policy. If you are not happy you can get a full refund.

Cons
1) iOS users require manual setup.
2) Their control panel needs to be updated. Honestly, it needs to be rebuilt completely. It is overly complicated in my opinion.
3) No free trials. I would like to see them give free trials in the future without requiring payment.
