Hungry? Cook Your Own Steak, with a Twist, in Canton
Black Rock Bar & Grill, which allows diners to cook their own steaks on lava rocks at the table, opened Sunday.

Black Rock Bar & Grill fired up its tabletop Australian lava rocks Sunday in its long-awaited opening.
It’s the third Black Rock in the Detroit Metro, complementing locations in Novi and Hartland, and is located at 41601 Ford Road, according to a post on Facebook.
The steakhouse fills a spot once occupied by the Roman Forum eatery, and the decor retains a tall knight’s suit of armor, a tribute to the Gatto family who operated an Italian restaurant for nearly 40 years.

Certified Angus Beef steaks and burgers aren’t the only items on the menu, according to the Black Rock website. The extensive menu also includes seafood and chicken dishes, gourmet foot-long hot dogs and other sandwiches, fresh salads, homemade soups and other items.
Customers who prefer not to grill their own meat on the piece of volcanic rock that reaches temperatures 755 degrees can turn the task over to the restaurant staff.
The restaurant, which employs 120 people, is also a great place to catch a game with 42 television screens and 32 beers on tap, including several craft beers from the Metro Detroit area.
For those who prefer a quieter dining experience, The Wine Room is sans television screens.
