Local Educator Named Maestro of Early Childhood Music Education
Kindermusik International recognizes Evola Music of Canton educators through the Kindermusik Maestro Program.

Canton Michigan – Karen Onkka Schanerberger has been named a Maestro in Production by Kindermusik International, the world’s leading publisher of music and movement programs.
Schanerberger (Miss Karen to her students) is an early childhood specialist at Evola School of Music in Canton. The Maestro Producer award recognizes excellence in reaching the community through a fast-growing program.
“The Kindermusik Maestro has a mission: helping children become better learners and helping parents understand how to help them reach their highest potential,” said Scott Kinsey, CEO at Kindermusik International.

Miss Karen joins the elite company of the 300 Maestros identified as the top Educators of the over 5,000 licensed educators in the world who teach Kindermusik’s music and movement curricula. She began providing Kindermusik at Evola Music in 1998. Today Miss Karen and her fellow educators provide the learning program to over 150 families each year.
In the last year, Kindermusik educators at Evola Music have focused on providing their families with a safe, quality learning environment in addition to the multitude of developmental benefits music education provides.

“When I asked parents to describe our class, they told me it was a music and movement parenting community,” said Schanerberger. “I love the fact that adults and children can bond together and make new connections through our programs.”
The Maestro Program recognizes licensed Kindermusik educators who master one of two levels in early childhood development: fast-growing programs and outstanding community service.
