The driver of the semi-truck heading west was not injured in the crash, according to sheriff's officials.

A driver who witnessed the crash told officials she noticed Oneal was experiencing some type of distress and having trouble keeping the semi-truck in his lane while trying to pass the truck on the freeway, according to sheriff's officials.

She then told officials as she slowed down to get behind the truck, it abruptly turned left and crossed all three lanes of traffic and the median through the cable barriers, according to sheriff's officials.

Officials said the truck narrowly missed a car before smashing into the semi-truck in the westbound lanes.

Officials were still investigating the crash and waiting for an autopsy report to determine if any medical issues played a role in the crash.
