MICHIGAN — One of college football's hottest rivalries will be played under the lights in primetime at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.
Officials announced Monday the game between the Michigan Wolverines (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten) and the Michigan State Spartans (3-4, 1-3 Big Ten) will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on ABC on Oct. 29.
Both teams are on a bye this Saturday and are coming off big wins. No. 4 Michigan pounded then No. 10 Penn State 41-17 at the big house and Michigan State held home field with a 34-28 overtime victory against Wisconsin.

While the matchup may not be as highly anticipated as last year, when the two in-state rivals met undefeated in East Lansing, there's still plenty of bad-blood between the teams and fans.
Michigan is looking to avenge last year's 37-33 loss after blowing a 16-point lead, while the Spartans are looking to get back to .500, and the way the season's shaping up, could possibly spoil any playoff hopes the Wolverines may have an eye on.

Michigan State will certainly be underdogs walking into Michigan Stadium on Oct. 29, after a disappointing 3-4 start. However, Spartans Head Coach Mel Tucker is 2-0 against Jim Harbaugh's Wolverines, including a shocking 27-24 win in October 2020.
Michigan, on the other hand, is meeting expectations, as the reigning Big Ten champions have started 7-0 and climbed up to No. 4 in the AP poll.
Michigan leads the series all time 71-38-5 and is 38-29-2, but the Wolverines are 3-4 against their rivals from East Lansing during Harbaugh’s tenure.
