Howard's mother and girlfriend remained in the house as he drove away. Howard reportedly fired one shot in the air before he got into his car, and then again at the back passenger window of his girlfriend’s car.

Plymouth police responding to a 911 call caught up with Howard on Interstate 275, when he crashed into a median at Interstate 96 and Newburg Road, according to the statement.
