Northville Home Erupts In Flames Twice, 1 Firefighter Injured: Report

The firefighter was injured after he cut his hand on broken glass while battling the blaze, a report from WWJ News said.

NORTHVILLE, MI — A Northville home erupted in flames twice within the span of seven hours overnight Tuesday, according to a WWJ News report.

The 2,000 square foot, two-story single-family home off Eight Mile Road between Meadowbrook and Silver Spring roads first caught fire Tuesday night at 10:30 a.m., the report said. Only one person was in the home and safety exited the home, officials said.

After battling the blaze and boarding up the home, the house caught fire again at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, officials said. No one was inside the home this time, but a firefighter was injured after he cut his hand on broken glass while battling the blaze, the report said. He was expected to be ok.

Although fire crews extinguished the fire, Northville Fire Chief Brent Siegel told the news station firefighters struggled with the fire because the home had a 900-foot-long driveway, which made it a long walk for firefighters to get additional equipment.
