Paramedic Who Stole from Dead Man Spends Christmas in Jail

A paramedic on an ambulance run found a dead patient and helped himself to $80, according to prosecutors in Michigan.

A Michigan paramedic has avoided felony charges, but will spend Christmas in jail after admitting he stole money from a dead man last year.

Authorities said Jack Jesse Price, 28, of Ravenna, was on an ambulance run for Professional Med Team Inc. on Dec. 19, 2013, when he stole $80 from a dead patient. The 55-year-old man was already dead when paramedics arrived at his home in Muskegon last year.

Price was originally charged with felony larceny. But on Dec. 15, he pleaded guilty to a reduced misdemeanor larceny charge after reaching a plea deal with the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office, The Muskegon Chronicle/MLive reports.
