Plymouth-Canton Community Literacy Council Receives $7,500 Grant from Consumers Energy Foundation to Support
Local community literacy council awarded grant from Consumers Energy Foundation to advance literacy services in Western Wayne County.

Plymouth, MI — February 4, 2026 — The Plymouth-Canton Community Literacy Council is proud to announce it has received a $7,500 grant from the Consumers Energy Foundation to support critical literacy initiatives, including tutor training, student support services, and educational software programs that benefit both learners and volunteer tutors.
The grant will help strengthen the organization’s capacity to deliver high-quality literacy instruction by investing in the preparation of tutors, expanding resources for students, and utilizing technology that enhances learning outcomes. These efforts directly support Plymouth-Canton Community Literacy Council’s mission to improve literacy skills and create meaningful educational opportunities within the community.
