Plymouth DDA Selects Traditional Fountain Design for Kellogg Park
Fountain will be the first phase of park redevelopment.

(Originally posted on Dec. 16, 2016) PLYMOUTH, MI — A traditional fountain will be the centerpiece of the redesigned Kellogg Park, the Plymouth Downtown Development Authority board voted 9-7 after several well-attended community meetings. The fountain is just one component of the $1 million project funded by The Wilcox Foundation.
The second phase of th work will focus on the remainder of the park. Discussions will take place in 2017 to get more public input, DDA Chair Oliver Wolcott, told the newspaper.
"Kellogg Park is one of the jewels of Plymouth and the goal all along has been focused on making improvements to the park that will sustain its beauty and welcoming appeal for generations to come.
Wolcott said completion of the project will largely depend on the weather over the next several months. The initial goal was to have the new fountain operational by the summer of 2017, in conjunction with the city of Plymouth 150th birthday.

"With winter now upon us that has become increasingly more challenging," Wolcott said. "The construction schedule needs to take into account a number of factors that make it difficult to determine exactly when we will be able to start and finish."
