The Corps is an exceptional opportunity for youth to perform and learn in many different historical sites around the country.
PLYMOUTH-CANTON, MI — The Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps will hold a new member information meeting on Monday, Oct. 18th at 7:00 p.m. at Praise Community Church on North Territorial Road in Plymouth.
Parents and students aged 12-18 are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about the Corps. No appointment is needed. Face masks will be optional for vaccinated individuals and the church recommends unvaccinated people to wear a mask, according to the church's latest COVID-19 update.
Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps President Stacey Studnicki said the Corps is a unique chance for youth to learn and perform in many different historical sites around the country, including parts of the eastern U.S.

"The Corps is a great opportunity for young people and their families to make new friends, travel and have fun," Studnicki said. "This past summer, we traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, and the Corps performed at the Gateway Arch and in South Dakota at Mount Rushmore. The Corps also performs at parades around Michigan each summer, so it's a great way to see our State too!"

In addition to performing at historical sites around the country, the Corps will also perform in parades, historical and patriotic celebrations, concerts and other civic events in Plymouth and the State of Michigan.
For example, the Corps performs in the Plymouth Good Morning USA Parade on the Fourth of July, in Downtown Plymouth at Kellogg Park and at the Plymouth Fall Festival each year.
Students do not need any musical experience, as they will have the opportunity to learn how to play a fife, the drums or be in the color guard. They will practice on Monday evening at Salem High School beginning in January.
This year also marks the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Plymouth Fife and
Drum Corps, where a friends and family recently celebrated a reunion in Plymouth Township Park.
"This year is the 50th anniversary of the Corps, and many alumni say they developed lifelong friendships," Studnicki said.
