So you want to know what is happening in Plymouth real estate in January 2014. With all these piles of snow and the polar vortexs it has slowed the buyers down. Most of southeastern Michigan is in hibernation. Nobody is going out to look at homes unless they are very serious buyers. Zillow is predicting a slow down in home value appreciation this year. Last year many metro Detroit cities rose over 20% in value.
The number of home sales will be down for December and January but is it because of the snow and cold or is it a slow down in the real estate market? Nobody will really know until the snow melts and the weather turns warmer.
If you are thinking about listing your home I would probably wait a month or two before listing it. Wait for the warm weather when more buyers will be out.
