Plymouth Twp Board meeting Dec 14, 2014

It is not a hard thing to come to an agreement that the taxpayers of Plymouth Township be allowed to come to an open meeting of the Board Of Trustees and ask simple questions.  This video illustrates many things that continue to anger residents.
1. Certain members of this board do not want to be asked questions by residents, and most certainly do not want to be obligated to answer any questions.
2. Nancy Conzelman, in her objections to Mr. Doroshewitz request, shows her total lack of knowledge in standard board practices.  She misrepresented school boards everywhere when she stated that they do not answer questions at meetings.  She also stated that people were asking questions when there wasn't even a motion at the table.  What the heck is she talking about?  Nobody but the board asks questions when a motion has been made but a board member.  Her point was ludicrous at best.
3. Richard Reaume made it a point to stipulate that if a board member answers a question, the time spent answering will count towards a resident's 3 minutes.  This is so that he can filibuster the answer for the remaining time, thereby taking the resident's ability to ask a follow up question.  This is a cheap political trick, that is used when a politician does not want to answer questions.  The only time they do not want to answer questions is when they are hiding something.

The bottom line is that Trustee Doroshewitz was simply seeking to accommodate taxpayers in their search for transparency.  The fact that this simple issue took as long as it did, fully illustrates the dysfunction of this board as a whole, and individually, the disrespect that other board members show to the very people that pay their salaries.
It took entirely too long to do a very simple thing.  It was like pulling teeth for Trustee Doroshewitz to shame the rest of this board into doing the right thing by the taxpayers, and even then, Kay Arnold refused to support this by voting no.  Unbelievable...
