Plymouth Whalers General Manager Mark Craig today announced the trade of left wing Liam Dunda to the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for two future draft choices – a third in 2016 (which originally belonged to London) and a fourth in 2017 (which belonged to Niagara).
Dunda, 17, was selected by the Whalers in the 6th round (114th overall) of the 2013 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. In 71 games with the Whalers, Dunda scored three goals with six assists for nine points and 78 PIM’s.

Dunda scored his first OHL goal during the Whalers last home game of the regular season last year, on March 15 in 4-1 win over Windsor.
This season, Dunda was injured on Oct. 17 in a fight with Kingston’s Regan O’Grady and missed 16 games with an upper body injury. He returned to the lineup on Nov. 28 in Windsor.

Dunda scored the goal during the Whalers’ Teddy Bear Toss Night on Dec. 6 that triggered the rain of stuffed animals onto the ice surface. See the video.
The Final OHL Trade Deadline for overages (1994 birthdays) is today at noon. The Final OHL Trade Deadline for all other players is Friday at noon.
Craig announced no other deals for Plymouth yet, but is continuing to work the phones. Other deals may be coming.
The Whalers are home this weekend, hosting North Bay on Friday and Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday. Both games start at 7:05 pm at Compuware Arena.
