Redford Man Charged with Shooting Son on Father’s Day
The son was transported to a local hospital and is currently receiving treatment for the gunshot wound.

Redford Township, MI – Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Howard B. Lowry, Sr., 48 of Redford, in connection with allegedly shooting his son, Marcus Ross, 23 on Father’s Day.
On June 19 at approximately 5:00 p.m. at a location in the 10030 block of Mercedes, the defendant had an argument with his 16-year-old son that became physical, according to a news release.
Lowry’s other son Ross intervened when he saw the defendant hitting the 16-year-old. It is alleged that the defendant became upset, went to his bedroom and retrieved his shotgun.

It is alleged that Lowry then went into the living room and shot Ross once in the abdomen while Ross’s one-year-old son was standing by him.

Ross was transported to a local hospital and is currently receiving treatment for the gunshot wound he sustained.
Lowry has been charged with two counts of assault with Intent to murder, child abuse fourth degree, felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in 17th District Court in Redford Township at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016.
