Whether you are a competitive runner, or a leisurely walker, you can have some fun, and support folks with cancer all at the same time

For folks interested in a 5K run, or a 5K walk, St. Mary Mercy Hospital has just the thing for you. Not only can you run a 5K race, but you’ll be helping out a lot of folks who are battling cancer as well. On Sunday, September 7, St. Mary Hospital hosts the 8th annual Embrace Life 5K Run/Walk. The race begins at 9:00 AM.

Finds raised assist hundreds of patients in need, providing such necessities as wigs; hats; skin care products provided by the Helen Palmer Image Recovery Center, and transportation services for patients traveling to and from the hospital for treatment.
Awards are given to the top three male and female winners, as well as age-group winners for the 5K run. B-Tag chip timing and USATF-certified course.

Remember, that you do not have to be a racer, and you do not have to run. You can do a leisurely 5K walk if you choose. The goal will be a fun time, a bit of exercise, and supporting a great cause. You could also volunteer at the event if you choose.
Early registration (on or before August 22) is $25; registration after August 22 or race day, is $30. To register online or to download a registration form for mail-in visit stmarymercy.org/embracelife5k
