Suspect Threatened to Burn Plymouth Gas Station, Kill Clerk: Police

Cigarettes and a hair iron were stolen in an unarmed robbery; police quickly caught up with suspects.

PLYMOUTH, MI – A Toledo man and his female companion stole cigarettes and a curling iron in an unarmed robbery earlier this month at a Plymouth gas station, which the man threatened to burn down, authorities allege.

According to police, the man also threatened to kill the clerk on duty at the Shell station on Ann Arbor Trail at Lilley in the May 1 incident, The Plymouth Observer reports. There were no injuries.

Police caught up with the pair about a mile from the store and arrested them.

The Toledo man, Krishten Maxwell Douglas, 35, was charged with unarmed robbery and as a habitual offender, which could result in a tougher sentence.

His female companion’s name wasn’t released because she hasn’t been arraigned. She faces fa charge of driving with a suspended license and was released from custody after her arrest.
