Troy Design and Manufacturing to Consolidate its Operations in Plymouth Township
Troy Design and Manufacturing (TDM) announces plans to consolidate its three Michigan operations into one facility in Plymouth Township, bringing 600 employees to Plymouth Township. TDM acquired the more than 1,000,000 sq.ft. facility located at 14425 Sheldon Rd. from Ford Land Development Corporation. TDM is a tier one supplier providing high quality design and manufacturing prototype stamping services to the automotive industry.

“This consolidation allows TDM to leverage all of its resources in a single facility,” said John Lowery, President and CEO, TDM. “We are excited to join the Plymouth Township community.” TDM will continue to operate its current locations in Redford and Warren while the new facility is being renovated. Renovations to the building include a new interior layout and equipment. A phased move for the 600 TDM employees began in April 2016 and be will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2016.
TDM currently operates a facility in Redford with 228 employees and another in Warren with 97 employees where prototype sheet metal stamping and assembly, including fabrication, is done. In addition, TDM operates a craftsman verification center in Redford with 275 employees.

“We are honored to have TDM join the vast number of advanced manufacturing and high tech companies in our community,” said Shannon Price, Plymouth Township Supervisor. “We are also excited that with the addition of TDM, the Sheldon/M-14 corridor will become a gateway into our community that we can all be proud of."
When complete, TDM will operate its stamping, engineering and sheet metal prototype operations under one roof in Plymouth Township.
