Westland McDonald's Offers Guests Transformed Dining Experience
Renovated restaurant offers new technology and level of service
WESTLAND, Mich. (Dec. 5, 2018) – The McDonald’s restaurant at 33921 Ford Road in Westland is inviting guests to experience McDonald’s in a new way with a greater level of choice, engagement and service. These changes are reflective of a new and innovative restaurant model that has been successfully rolled out in more than 2,600 McDonald’s restaurants around the world and puts more choice and control in the hands of guests by evolving how they order, what they order, how they pay and how they are served.
A ribbon cutting and celebration were held at the restaurant on Wednesday, December 5. McDonald’s Owner/Operator Joni Thrower welcomed guests for a first-hand look at the newly renovated location. City leaders and local business leaders were among those who saw the new features, which include kiosks for ordering, table service, digital menu boards, a double drive-thru and more payment options.
“We’re excited to share this evolved experience at McDonald’s with our customers,” said Joni Thrower, McDonald’s Owner/Operator. “We appreciate and value our guests’ feedback on this new experience, and we’re looking forward to offering them a new way to dine at McDonald’s.”

For those looking to order at their own pace, the Westland McDonald’s new digital self-order kiosks make ordering and paying for a meal easy. Kiosks empower guests to browse the menu, find new options and tailor their meal just the way they want. Guests’ orders are delivered to tables by McDonald’s crew members, allowing customers to relax and enjoy a more custom dining experience. McDonald’s owner/operators and restaurant teams in Westland are placing a higher emphasis on hospitality by focusing on greeting customers, assisting with technology and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment.
As part of the event, Joni Thrower also made a donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit to thank them for the support and services they provide to families in Southeast Michigan.
