• Port Huron won't replace deputy city manager after Broomfield departure (thetimesherald.com) — Port Huron’s deputy city manager, Cynthia Broomfield, is leaving June 26 after more than eight years, and the city does not plan to replace her. Instead, City Manager James Freed says Port Huron will use the vacancy to reevaluate operations and promote existing staff, potentially reshaping how key administrative duties are handled. 
• A baby sturgeon named Washago toured Detroit schools. Now it's going home (arcpublishing.com) — A year-old lake sturgeon named Washago, raised through a Metro Detroit education program, will soon be released in Port Huron as part of efforts to restore the species. During Sturgeon Fest on Saturday, Washago and another fish will be brought to Port Huron, where residents can learn about conservation, meet vendors, and even head out on the water.
