📰 News we're reading

• More than a gap: How OU commuters spend time between classes (oaklandpostonline.com) — Commuters to Oakland University are increasingly using long breaks between classes to explore nearby Rochester Hills spots like the Village of Rochester Hills, Lula's Cafe and Naba Cafe instead of driving home. Students describe how these gaps become time for studying, campus jobs, club meetings, meals, and friendships, helping off-campus students feel more connected to campus and the surrounding community.

• Men's Soccer Rolls Past Lake Michigan College (hope.edu) — A Rochester Hills native, senior Josh Reyes, scored twice as Hope College men's soccer dominated Lake Michigan College 7–0 in a rainy home exhibition. Reyes and teammate Tate Pellow each tallied two goals, leading an attack that outshot the visitors 23–7 and secured a combined shutout in goal, giving local fans a strong showing before league play begins.
