$5K Reward Offered For Tips In Fatal Shooting Of Oakland County Deputy

Officials offered the reward for any tip that "moves this case forward."

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information in connection with the fatal shooting of an Oakland County sheriff's officer, according to a news release.

Officials offered the reward for any tip that "moves this case forward," according to the release.

Bradley J. Reckling, 30, was working undercover Saturday night when he was shot to death in the area of Park Grove and Schoenherr streets in Detroit, according to police.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard called the shooting "an ambush."

Reckling was among three auto theft unit deputies following a stolen Chevy Equinox from the Red Oaks Waterpark in Oakland County sometime between 1 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, according to police.

Police eventually arrested three people in connection with the shooting, though no information about the suspects has been released.

Reckling leaves behind a pregnant wife and three daughters, ages 5, 4, and 1, according to the sheriff's office.

"This agency is crushed," Bouchard said. "You can see it in their eyes how soul crushing this is."
