'Absolutely Untrue' Crumbley Is Incompetent For Trial: Prosecutor

PONTIAC, MI — Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald addressed rumors about accused Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley and his current mental state.
In a Monday Facebook post, McDonald said social media posts claiming Crumbley has been deemed incompetent to stay trial are "absolutely untrue."
"The office of the Oakland County Prosecutor has become aware of posts on social media claiming the Oxford High School shooting suspect has been deemed incompetent to stand trial," McDonald said in the post. "This is absolutely untrue. Please refrain from sharing inaccurate information."

Crumbley's next court date is Jan. 7 for a probable cause hearing. His original hearing on Dec. 13 was delayed due to both the prosecution and defense not able to process all the evidence in the shooting.
Crumbley faces 24 charges in connection to the Oxford shooting on Nov. 30 at Oxford High School, which left four students dead and several others wounded.

Those charges include, 4 counts of first-degree murder, 7 counts of assault with intent to murder, 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, 1 count of terrorism causing death.
Crumbley is currently being held without bond.
