Adams Musicians Will Help Raise Cancer Awareness at Weekend Event
Sunday's "Turn the Village Teal" event will support ovarian cancer advocacy.

There's doing what you love and there's doing what is right.
And if you happen to be lucky — and talented — sometimes those can be one and the same.
Adams High School seniors Olivia Millerschin and Matt Heim are using their musical talents this weekend to help raise awareness for ovarian cancer at the "Turn the Village Teal" event. (Teal ribbons are used to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.)

The event, held Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., is sponsored by Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance and The Village of Rochester Hills. Participants can wear teal to register to win prizes including $50 Village gift cards. There will also be teal collectible cars on display and kid-friendly activities.
'I Wanna Grow Old With You'
Millerschin and Heim will perform a collection of new, old and original songs on guitars, ukulele, drums and keyboards.

Their set will close, at the request of MIOCA founders, with Millerschin's original song I Wanna Grow Old With You. Millerschin performs often across Rochester and Rochester Hills; hear her music at www.oliviamillerschin.com.
"It's important to do what you love, but I think it's just as important to do what's right," Millerschin said. "Helping raise awareness and funds for charities feels right to me."
"Turn the Village Teal" will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Village of Rochester Hills at the corner of Adams and Walton. Call 248-375-9451 with questions. For more information about the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance, visit www.mioca.org.
