The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s Mosque Vandalized

An unfortunate and sad incident took place on the Friday night at our mosque. On the night of Friday, October 8,2021 approx. at 9:30 PM someone vandalized the front doors of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s Mosque (Masjid Mahmood) located at the 1730 W. Auburn Rd, Rochester Hills. The main entry way of the Mosque was smashed in with broken glass splattered across a wide area in and outside.

Usually, around this time, children, women, and men are present for the last prayer of the day. Luckily no one was hurt as members of the community left after offering their nightly prayer a few minutes prior to the incident. The incident has been reported to law enforcement.

We are sharing this information so that our Interfaith Communities can exercise extra caution and be vigilant while attending their places of worship. We are praying for the safety of all Interfaith Community members and places of worship.

"Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a very peaceful and peace loving community. We have great relationships with our neighbors and communities across Michigan. We are not sure why would someone like to harm a place of worship." said Imam Shamshad Nasir

President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Maqbool Tahir talking to the media said, "We live in a very peaceful community and neighborhood. This sort of incident has not happened here and we are very surprised at the moment and looking to understand the motive and the reason behind this. We are working with the law enforcement to get to the bottom of the incident."

We are requesting your prayers for the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community during these difficult times and at the same time request your condemnation of these acts of the individual(s).
