Sixteen third-grade Brownie Girl Scouts at in Rochester Hills recently bridged to Junior Girl Scouts. All 16 girls from Troop 40530 completed the requirements to bridge to the Junior level of Girls Scouts.
The troop, which started with 10 kindergarteners in 2007, is led by Cindy Schurman and Carolyn Claerhout. As Brownie Girl Scouts, the troop earned 35 different Try-its (badges), participated in the Memorial Day parade, collected books for Charlotte's Wings, collected canned goods for Rochester Area Neighborhood House, attended overnight camp, and participated in many fun and educational field trips.
"It's been amazing to watch this group of girls change from timid kindergarteners to a group of girls who not only care about each other, but about the world we live in," stated Troop 40530 Leader Cindy Schurman. "We're looking forward to all the great things we will do in the years ahead."
