The run is just one example of how the Rochester Area Optimist Club focuses its efforts on community events that raise money for charitable children’s causes. Tom Stebbins, former President of the Rochester Optimist Club and an avid runner, says the Bloomer Boogie is a winning combination of fun and fitness for kids and their parents.

“The Bloomer Boogie has become a fall tradition in the Rochester area, with our participant numbers increasing each year. We are pleased to be going into this year’s event, our largest annual fundraiser, with the renewed endorsement of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. The Bloomer Boogie, Fall Back Five Mile, and Boo Boo Boogie offer healthy outdoor fun for kids and families. Plus it's a great way for the community to help support the Rochester Optimist Club in our mission to bring out the best in kids," offers Mr. Stebbins.
