St. John Lutheran Church & School Foundation to Hold its 6th Annual Governors' Dinner

The St. John Lutheran Church and School Foundation is holding its Sixth Annual Governors’ Dinner on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Addison Oaks Conference Center in Leonard, Michigan.

To be honored are two members of St. John who have provided many years of service to the Lord and to the congregation, Jim and Jan Boldt. Dr. Jim Boldt served for three years as school principal at St. John Lutheran School. Prior to coming to St. John, Jim worked in educational positions for a number of years in Wisconsin and at the Synodical level. After retiring, he served as the Michigan District’s School Accreditation Promoter as well as a Pastoral Assistant at St. John and Bible Class Director. He has also served as an instructor in the Michigan District Deacon Program and is chairman of the Michigan District Commission on Deacon Qualifications. Jan Boldt helped develop and teaches a Bible Basics class, which introduces the Bible to those "new in the faith." She has been a mentor of the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) for the past twelve years. She helped establish and participates in the "Apples of Gold" program which teaches cooking skills and spiritual values to newly married women. Jan is a Stephen Minister, participates in St. John’s Prayer Ministry, and sings in the St. John adult choir.

Reservations may be made with a check payable to the St. John Lutheran Church and School Foundation for $45 per person and must be received in the church/school office not later than Monday, April 29, 2013.
