Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries have increased in young athletes over the past 2 decades. ACL Injury prevention is important for young athletes as they are 10 times more likely to develop degenerative arthritis in the knee after an ACL reconstruction. Shannon McPherson, PT, DPT, Nicole Bushong, PT, DPT and Laurie Kowalick, PT, OMPT have been certified in the Sportsmetrics Training by Cincinnati Sports Medicine.
Sportsmetrics is an evidence based program for prevention of non contact ACL injuries in young athletes. The program also provides training in post operative ACL reconstruction rehabilitation to get young athletes back on the field after surgery safely and efficiently.
